The Patch MK is one of the largest pick-your-own flower farms in the UK. Over the years, thousands of people have visited us, creating unforgettable memories through our fun-filled activities, adventure routes, and the joys of picking their own beautiful sunflowers and wildflowers.
Our Flower Fields are made up of different areas, each with its own natural beauty. Visitors pick their favourite blooms amongst our lively sunflowers. It’s a place where nature lovers, families and friends gather to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
This year visitors to the Flower Fields will also be able to experience The Last Footprint a striking new art installation created in collaboration with international artist, Erik Schmitz. The Last Footprint is situated within the flower fields at The Patch MK.
This year we have planted over 30 different varieties of Sun Flowers from Yellow to Peach, Pink to Purple, Green to Red and Orange to Fluffy! There really is a sunflower for everyone one out in the Flower Fields at The Patch MK.
Our flowers are planted in stages to try and ensure a continuous bloom throughout the summer.
This spring, the UK has seen 67% less rainfall, a 5% increase in average temperature, and a 15% increase in max temperature and as such our early planted sunflowers are blooming earlier than normal and are set to look stunning when we open at the end of July, the other areas should follow these throughout August.
Please note:
Our wildflowers are developing more slowly this year due to the hot and dry spring we’ve experienced in the UK. While they are here and blooming, they may not be as tall or striking as in previous years.
At the moment, we are allowing picking from the wildflower areas, however this may change as the season progresses. We’ll keep you updated.
Not only will you have the opportunity to stroll through our stunning fields, but you’ll also be able to hand-pick your own sunflowers to take home and display. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of creating a beautiful bouquet from flowers you’ve personally selected!
Throughout the flower fields, you’ll also discover numerous handcrafted, unique photo opportunities designed to capture the magic of your visit. Whether it’s a charming floral archway, a rustic swing nestled among the blooms, or a picturesque sunflower-lined pathway, these special spots provide the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories.
Secateurs can be borrowed from our flower tent when you visit, we just ask that you please return them once you have finished in the flower fields and do not take them home with you.
